IRON MAN OF INDIA : Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, popularly known as Sardar Patel, was an Indian politician. He was born on 31 October 1875 in Nadiad Bombay. He was an Indian barrister, a seniour leader of Indian National congress and a founding a father of the Republic of India who played an most important role in country's struggle for independence and guided its integration in to a united, independent Nation. He was an admired and respected because he gave up successful life as a lawyer. He fought against national issues i.e alcoholism , untouchability , caste discrimination and work for empowerment of women in the state.
He is known as iron man of india because of his courage he has shown to unite the india in adversites . Sardar was not his name but it gained this title because of his leadership skill as sardar means a leader.

There were more than 562 self governed princely states when india gained its independence from british empire in 1947.
Option was given to this princely states to join India , Pakistan or remain independent . All state decide to join india except three i.e. kashmir , junagadh and Hyderabad . He used diplomacy and have option to deploy military to persuade each princely state to be united with india .
- Only he was responsible for uniting all the princely states to be part of india whichgave him the title of Iron Man Of India.

- Integration of Princely States:
Patel was instrumental in persuading—and sometimes pressuring—princely states to join the Indian Union, using diplomacy and tact with the support of V.P. Menon.
- Leadership in the Freedom Struggle:
Active in the Kheda and Bardoli Satyagrahas, earning him the title “Sardar” (leader).
Worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi and was respected for his administrative skills and discipline.
- Builder of Modern India:
Played a major role in shaping India’s administrative structure.
Advocated for a strong central government to maintain unity in a diverse country.
Legacy:
Statue of Unity: The world’s tallest statue (182 meters), inaugurated in 2018 in Gujarat, honors his legacy.
National Unity Day: Celebrated on his birthday, October 31, to promote unity and integrity in India.
